We be sick...
Okay, first it was the monsters. Now it is me. bah. Tired, exhausted, scratchy voice, irritating husband three more sleeps, three more sleeps, three more sleeps ....Sent off a whack of packages varied addresses this afternoon. Hope each makes it to its destination without much harm. Going to bed. You'll find me under the duvet with my wheat bag, begging for sleep... undisturbed sleep for hours and hours and hours... stop laughing. Labels: me?, Sickness, yeah I'm whining
The advantage to standing up to pee.
Is that when you suddenly want to vomit. You can without having to move. Ask m2. Neighbour from across the street is picking up m1. .... and the suckage continues Labels: m2, Sickness
Oh heck... Here is the warning.. TOOOOO MUCH INFORMATION TO FOLLOW!!!! When we were last being miserable , I was under the impression that my body had geared up for an all out end of cycle fun and games... nope. Oddly enough... if I wasn't so absolutely sure of it... I'd say I was in the early stages of labour. And no... the chances of pregnancy are at about ohhhhh 0%. I'm giving it until the weekend... and then I might, MIGHT, go and see someone about it. might. Labels: me?, Sickness, wayyyyy to much information
In case anyone wonders what I've been up to....
I've been coughing to the point of seeing stars... and last night! Oh goody, last night, I actually passed out from the lack of being able to catch my breath between hacks! Went to the walk in clinic this morning. Reasonable doc. Not much he can do, just keep taking the cough syrup and hope for the best. =( *anyone with advice on eyebrow tweezing... feel free to send it along! Labels: me?, Sickness
bah!
Well then, not only am I cesspool of sneezing and coughing misery (but well hydrated and low way below my fat intake for the day! yeah me!)... m1 has pink eye... badly. My eyes are all itchy, either out of sympathy or I have it too. bah! Labels: m1, me?, Sickness, weight issues.
The mediocri-tea...
11:27 the phone rings.... who would call me now? Husband! That is who... want me to bring home lunch? I'm thinking what the heck? Then I realize... he is coming home to go to the mediocri-tea. We went. M1 was phenomenally well behaved and so proud of himself. I'm glad we could go. I spent most of the day preparing myself to go, and an excuse to feed the husband when he demanded why we didn't... Yes, that would be m1 getting his little diploma thingy.... and racing back to sit next to "sighhhh Emily with the long blonde hair and cubby/locker next to me" Uh no dear teacher, I don't want to have a hug... I've got things to do this afternoon like sitting still and singing the songs and waving at my mom and dad and looking really happy... something mom and dad haven't seen in this environment in a while. Meanwhile, m2 was checking out the shades of his favourite mama friend...
'yo dudes... gonna pimp mahself and teddy up for this little par- tay.....
Let us not forget the little princess.... Hi. I've got a fever of 102.8 and I'm miserable and cranky and now sporting my first set of antibiotics... because I've got not only an ear inflammation but a raging upper respiratory infection.... lucky me huh?
Why yes... mom and dad are going to be kept up all night again tonight. I'm freaking mama out... she's counting the sirens again today.... bwaa haa haaaaaa Labels: Sickness, the husband, the monsters, the school thing...
Six more days...
There are six more days for m1 in school... by the way, anyone want to explain a PD (professional development) day on a Thursday, and then the last day of school on the Friday? No joke... a little dumb if you ask me. * we all know what my opinion is worth though, now don't weMd is still sick... oh yeah, back up... md has been bouncing around a fever all week. Today we got up to 103.2 Yeah, not so pleasant... Tylenol seems to put a dent in it for a few hours then up we shoot again. Night time is the worst though... daytime whining I'm used to... this not sleeping ... SUCKS! I'm not sure what is going on, her ears are clear... I am hoping we get a few teeth for all this misery. Tomorrow is the "N/K afternoon tea".... or as I like to refer to it (not in m1's presence!) as the "It's psychotic! They are finding new ways to celebrate mediocrity graduation tea...." Ahhh yes, how fun is this going to be... thankfully they scheduled it during nap time. Yeah, as if it isn't bad enough that md is sick... now I get to drag her and her partner in crime to a "tea" for the competimommies to scrutinize. During their nap time. Validate my parking. For the love of dairy!!! VALIDATE THE PARKING SO I CAN ESCAPE THIS! Labels: Sickness, the school thing...
Ahhh the light of day...
And I'm feeling mostly human. Md was miserable all night long... crying and crying and crying... inconsolable. ugh ugh ugh... Wish whatever bug has attacked our home would pick up and move! I'm going to venture food shortly. Decided not to chance it before dropping m1 at school. Yeah, because I'd like to add throwing up to the list of social faux pas for my life... Parent of child that really gets along well with m1 is now resorting to not even making eye contact. I'm tempted to use some strong word for her... but I won't. Just sit and revel in the fact that she would have been a very lonely person had people turned their backs on her when she had her children... all out of wedlock, all to a very Catholic mom. Who is part of an ethnic community that really, really frowns upon babies (sex before marriage is a biggie too) before rings... which by the way. She is now "living" with a person who isn't even dad. So yeah. I'm doing the whole schadenfreude thing. But no one bats an eye at her. Oh well. Screw it. I'm sorry, but that day, I really didn't like my child. So sorry for being honest. Speaking of stupid things... they are having a "graduation tea" for the class. I'm going to quote a movie here... "THEY'RE CELEBRATING MEDIOCRITY!" Don't know if we'll bother to go. I wish husband would resort to not speaking to me, but I know he'd have a lot to say about my not dragging myself and m2 and md to the school during naptime for some stupid "tea"?! Blah! Labels: Sickness, the school thing...
oooozing....
I went for a massage tonight. Ahhhh that was painful, yet good. Less than an hour later, my body has revolted... and is revolting. I'm oozing (or violently purging) from every direction. For once the school thing isn't making me want to die... my body is! Labels: Sickness
And it is only Tuesday...
Coming home from school this morning... Child x was spanking my bum when we were in line this morning.
Did you tell Mrs. ____? Yes.
And did she talk to child x? She kept telling me to tell the truth mum.
we get to the front steps of the house... "mum, when I did that I had to go home didn't I?"Yes sweetie you did. "oh".Husband wants to know what the heck the "full time EA" was doing while this was happening... let alone why he was put next to this child when we have specifically asked to school to not do so! What the Heck is wrong with this picture. I will never giggle at those stupid posters of "I learned all I needed to know in Kindergarten". -I am ADHD, despite all other diagnosis to the contrary... including two doctors now. But heck, the Kindergarten teacher already discussed me and my "problem" with everyone anyway... so here is my label with "parents in ADHD denial" for grade one. -I am supposed to sit down and be quiet all the time. -I am supposed to tell the truth... even when you won't believe me when I am. -I can make my mom cry daily. -I am to be ignored by my classmates because their moms don't like mine. -I am a sissy for liking crafts. -I am silly for liking red peppers. -I am not allowed to get away with anything and will be sent home... even when others were doing the exact same behaviour, are not sent home. great... just great.... Add to that... this little person
Who is now being doped up like his sibling... for ..... an ear infection. My poor parents... not only do they have a very dirty little monster, but a sick one too. I'd drive out tonight to get him, but there is a severe weather warning for the area. That and he seems to be quite content sucking back the Tylenol and eating grapes with his grandparents...
Labels: m1, m2, Sickness, the school thing..., what the heck?
Ahhh, that is what it is!
Ding ding ding ding... Ear infection. Our first! Well, maybe our first... think m2 may have had a mild one last winter... Alas, the blood curdling screams of agony at two in the morning, after a day that started with a fever of over 102. Well then, we finally have an definitive answer to what is up with the general health of m1. Poor kid. I am sad to say though, that the premier specialist with all the advice a mom could want about these tricky things is gone. Oh yeah, sorry! Don't bother clicking you won't get anywhere. The blog is gone due to legal issues, you can read here. I didn't always agree with this paediatrician. But I am sorry to see him go... he really did have some good general advice. So, for today... Tylenol Hydration and Rest... If things get worse, I'll go to the walk in and see if it requires antibiotics. Usually if you let them run their course, they do not. You taught me well Dr. Lindeman. I wish you and your family well. Labels: Sickness
Friday already?
Really tomorrow? How crazy is that. Kept m1 home from school today, way too much snot to contend with for anyone... even a Kindergarten teacher with as many years as this person! I managed to get a shower during the daylight hours today. Very cool. The laptop is about to go out the window and hit the concrete... sound is gone. I mean even the little icon on the lower right side of the speaker is gone. WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS ONE?! HUH? ahem. A little cranky about this ... yes. I am. Hopefully after I freak out on the HP people for the umpteenth time... that yes, I did follow your instructions and no, it did not help. I will get a chance to take it back to the place I purchased it and say "fix this". yeah... here is hoping. Haven't drank as much water as I should be lately. I'm feeling it too. I'll try and get back on the bandwagon tomorrow... hopefully. Well, I think I'll curl up with a book in bed now. I'm just wiped right out. Quite honestly I shouldn't be feeling this blah though... Husband brought home supper and everything. meh. Time for bed. Count the sirens. This week has been crazy busy for emergency personnel around my stomping grounds. Yo! People sharing my world. BEHAVE! I'm starting to think of begging for meds. Thinking... not ready to walk into a clinic and say hi. I'm mm and I'm going off the deep end. Would you please give me something to make me feel "normal" again. *stop snickering people... I have a "normal"... I just haven't had it defined yet. To do list for May the twelfth.
Fold, sort and put away four laundry basket contents. Clean home for arriving semi-senile elderly uncle. Make sure gift for m1's classmate is fully painted and finished for low key party. Make sure to go to the low key party at the time specified... verbally. huh, gonna have to e-mail the mama before crashing for the night. Oh, guess we ought to make that morning! Go to bank and get cash for emergencies... like the extra Lexus payment they want for filling the tank at the gas station... yeesh! Feel guilt over not going to see a friend in desperate need of a chocolate fix. I PROMISE SOON!!! Sleep? snort... anyone notice the time. I haven't messed with the time stamp at all. Yuppers I am awake and wide eyed and busy tailed. *actually I'm in an incredible amount of pain. Foot/ankle swollen to post c/s levels. Very disconcerting. Have seen walk in doc, planned on further action this week... not so realistic now.Tylenol seems to be kicking in. Cold pack is out of the freezer, waiting to numb the pain... have I mentioned I hate having cold feet? Well, I do. Will have laptop... won't have wireless access. You may, or may not hear from me in the next little while... Wish me luck. I'm less than likely to be civil with a few of the husbands relatives. "golly gee, how horrible your baby has severe asthma at 18 months!" what I'd love to really say is...You dumb ass stupid little nit wit. NO KIDDING THE KID IS SICK! You live with a SMOKER! You had an elective caesarean (NO YOU CHOSE IT DUMB ASS, YOU COULD HAVE SAID, I'M HAVING A SNOOZE NOW THAT THE EPIDURAL IS IN AND WE'LL TALK IN THE MORNING! *I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD CUT YOU OPEN!* YOU CHOSE TO USE FORMULA, NO KIDDING YOU'VE HAD ONE EAR INFECTION AFTER ANOTHER.... GET A GRIP AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR STUPIDITY.Ahem... sorry. Feeling a little riled at the moment. This particular relative will be sobbing at the funeral... too bad she actually only made it to see her grandmother once since Christmas.... grumble... God help us all if the other dumb ass cousin shows up! She probably won't, as she only "married in to" the family. And her pregnancy isn't going well. Her husband probably doesn't have the time or inclination to show up either... No shit? You're a nurse in a rural redneck town (can we say doctor worship?) ... and you haven't quit smoking? oh no problem ... of course you go right ahead and keep on puffing away. Yes, people I said I do... despite this poor breeding stock. Oh, the smoker in her last few weeks of pregnancy... Subject to the lively discussion at our wedding of what shade of peach/pink/nude underwear she was wearing... skirt was barely considered a real piece of fabric covering not so much. Have fun with that birth thing honey... anyone in on the c/s betting pool? anyone? c'mon.... lovely. Just tucked m2 into bed with husband. He is wheezy and warm. Yeah, that has to clear up before tomorrow afternoon. No really. We don't have time for sick! Labels: dumb people giving birth, I'm crabby, m2, Sickness
my brain is taking a break...
To bring me an amazing amount of pain, nausea and frustration. This week has been busy with preparation for International Midwifery Day... an AGM for the local doula/childbirth community group... school... gardening... first soccer games... yeah. busy. I have started in on it, but have yet to complete it. I started out with a serious diatribe on it. Then I figured it was a little too dark so I went on to a funnny one. Yeah. Not so easy to answer. Soon. Soon I'll get it posted! I haven't forgotten! So today... my brain decided to make me vomit violently, feel dizzy, groggy and generally like someone has tried to pry my skull open with some sharp cruel object. Can't tell if it is lack of sleep, weather issues, stress over the rally on Saturday (yeah, that is a post unto itself... I'm stressed over going to a midwifery rally! ugh) or the delightful hormones that plague me every single month now... I was lucky enough to be able to send m1 off with a friend to school, who will drop him off again at lunch time. She even offered to take m2 with her to the Parent Centre, poor m2... he still isn't out of his pj's yet. Md is snoozing. I think she is teething a bit... or something. Crabby kid! Husband isn't home until late tonight... he has a meeting that starts at seven. ugh ugh ugh. I think I'll order pizza for supper. Too brain dead to try and feed them three good meals today. Two will have to do! Going to die on the sofa now. Labels: Sickness
Warning..... I'm retchedly ill.... ickyness ahead!
So on Sunday mornings wee hours (and no we certainly did not celebrate St. Patricks Day with anything green or alcoholic) my gastro-intestinal track decided to take a turn for the worse. Finally a few hours later, about five-ish as I sat at one end of the bathroom... my stomach thought it best to spew its contents the short space across into the sink. Much more conducive. By nine, I was feeling better. By noon, I was almost human. By two I was sitting at the ballet, sucking on mints... feeling pretty good. As of two hours ago, I'm back to square one. As I sat down to type this. all I could think was If only I could just throw up again... Lucky me. My body listened. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to lie on the bed and wait 5 to 7 minutes for the next "wave of nausea, heaving, retching" hell I'm enduring... and think of how I'm going to get the biggest monster to school without dying..... which in all honesty would be more conducive right now!
