Not including labour costs...

Why yes the 21st century has arrived...
So, on the weekend, as a ploy (and fundraiser) to keep the children up late in order to change the clocks without the 'lets get up at 5:30 in the morning' problem. We went to the family social... for those of you who do not hail from my stomping grounds... music, drinks (non alcoholic at this one), snacks... sometimes a band ... depends really. The kick ass silent auction. 40 or so tickets later.... We'd like to embrace the 21st century.. and use it. Alas....THE BEST BUY MORONS STILL HAVE MY LAPTOP...... GEEK SQUAD, I SPIT ON YOUR NAME! Labels: Canadian eh?, I'm still crabby., life in general.
yeah, the laptop isn't back yet....
And for those of you who don't remember... THIS ONE SUCKS!!!! ahem. Not much new... went to whacked out neighbours on the weekend.... she was having 'tea' to celebrate having painted her living/dining room white. white. yeah... wosw (whacked out social worker), still doesn't cover up the mother load of crap you have lying about. ick ick ick! Nor does it mean you are any more socially adept. FREAK! I refrained from asking if her workplace was still killing off the kids they've been 'placing in care'.... I'm mean. But not quite that mean yet. School is going tickity boo! Yes, banging fist on teak wood (hand me down from my grandparents, don't get all environmental on me! I didn't buy it! snort) table. TICKETY BOO! cough sputter.... I'm baking pumpkin cookies with his class at the end of the month. Not so sure how I got wrangled into this one? but here we are. M2 is still refusing to poop in the toilet. He did on the weekend. So I kept my word, and bought him a toy at the the toy store. His own set of tools... he was very pleased! They disappeared yesterday after he was dumped in the shower with a pile of wash cloths and a bucket of warm water.... clean yourself up buddy. md.... oh dear. I'm going to be a basket case on the long weekend. I'm taking m1 back to my stomping grounds by myself. No one else.... Which also means... not having to cook a turkey or dressing or potatoes or whatever else is absolutely required of a Thanksgiving dinner according to husbands family. squeeeee! I don't mind Thanksgiving meals... love 'em... hate the stress of them when his parents come, which they ALWAYS do! I have never left md for more than a day-ish.... a birth of two sort of thing.... I was always in the city, around if needed. I am hoping the two of us survive it. She is rather 'attached'. As in screaming at her dad when I'm not around lately. Wish us luck. Well, completely forgot to phone a friend, talked to another and now should be thinking about waking up the little monsters to pick up the big one! So much for the afternoon =( Labels: life in general., the monster daughter..., the monsters
External harddrives ROCK!!!
Seriously. They do! That being said. ... I was also lucky enough to snag the ancient machine and now am at home listening to Mr. Tom 'whackadoodle' Cruise play super spy.... Sunday night tv is less than stellar, even with satellite. Any hoo... Will have seriously cute photo updates when the laptop comes home... ugh. When my mother in law says 'I can't wait to see her in it!' I get scared. This time! HOLY CRAP the woman was bang on with her birthday gifts! *md is growing at a freakish pace and so the birthday purchases from East Coast trek were given early. We were graced with 4 L of Maple syrup! I am so thrilled! I have been hoarding it forever! I use it in baking for the monsters all the time! As well as the waffle thing! Gotta love waffles. I suppose I should go to bed. We got 'tagged' tonight. Chalk 'gang' tag on the street in front of our house. Brought in the pumpkins, and I'm just sitting here, waiting for the little punks to do more... I so hate the little trollops and their 'gangsta' boyfriends. Well, the breakfast cinnamon cake thing for the parent centre breakfast in the morning is ready to come out of the oven now. Let it cool a bit and head off to bed. Night all! Labels: how technically inept am I?, life in general., the house
ahem.....
Hi .... Back. Internet out for over a week.... or close to a week... or WAY TOO LONG FOR ME! ahem... Time to update. M1, doing splendidly in school... so far so good.... hoping against hope that it continues. At home is another story... but if I suck it up and try to remain calm, I will push through whatever is coming out at home, for a sedate life at school. M2... still won't defecate on the toilet. I'll leave it at 'I'm tired of washing his underpants'. Md... dear God that girl has an attitude! Me... cold, cranky and happy to be back in the land of the living. The competi-mommies... suddenly very nice with me. So add scared to that list. Very productive, more jam has been made. *cue laughter and ridicule coming at me in droves ... I've been canning fruit. YES, I peeled, cored and cut pears... cooked 'em and sealed them in jars. I feel so domestic... shudder. back to updates, shall we? Husband, tolerable. Dog... went missing for three hours on 'big game day'... we live very close to the stadium.... all equals out to BAD. Dog is back. Dog is very loved. Dog had better not pull that again! Now then... time to complete emptying my bloglines.... I've missed so much! Labels: life in general.
Time to make a table tent....
And bake muffins and eat pancakes for lunch..... And prepare ourselves for tomorrow..... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Ahem... first day without dad. Tomorrow is first day of school... Lets just make it through today, shall we? Labels: life in general.
The past 24 hours...
Backed up sewer system... complete with renting a roto rooter from Home Depot and managing to remove a large bag of roots from our pipes. Feeding six adults and three children all in an hour long time frame. Yeah, guests from MN and WI (is that the proper abbreviation for Wisconsin? someone help me out here!). *whom we weren't sure if they actually were okay with sharing a bed. Yeah... there are still cute little college students who don't necessarily sleep together. ** no I don't know if they moved to separate mattresses, none of my business! Had one of our back tires deflate to the rims, in less than six hours. Got a deal on getting both back tires replaced. Walked for 40 minutes outside with md and m2 in the bike stroller...did I mention it is in the mid-thirties out there? *yes, there was a break in the mall to cool off. Absolutely dislike the husbands new glasses. blech. Am not able to go get groceries until much later... see tires thought. Now then, I'm going to curl up with Harry Potter after I get these little monsters in to bed. Biggest monster is with Dad and the guests at the Provincial museum at the moment... while the tires are being dealt with. Labels: life in general.
To do in the next 15 hours...
Finish off the bathroom... so my father in law doesn't feel the need to "help"... or maybe I do want help.... hmmmm must ponder. Finish putting away all the yard sale clothes in the big Rubbermaid container. Clean my bedroom... little Styrofoam pellets off the packaging of the medicine cabinet ... makes me itch with guilt! De-fur the dog... think I'll call and get a professional to do it during the week. De-fur the house. Start reading the book. on the general to do list... order a book or two for the local childbirth/ doula group I'm a part of... get some bookplates (do they still make those?) to dedicate them. Stupidly I've been going to loss blogs and writing down some of the books these families are reading. Mama and Dad were given a few books and someone from the hospital hooked them up with another family who are a year or two down the road from them. I'm hoping this helps. *yeah, they paid me! I never ever expected it. Not even a thought... but there we are. I don't feel completely comfortable with it... so perhaps some resources for others? Pipe up here gang... I know you are reading! bah!
WHAT HAPPENED to this?! It is raining! I had this great plan to take the littlest monsters to the playground this morning! We have new shovels and pails and such fun things to move the little rocks that inevitably get into their sandals and cause havoc... Now what? grumbles...... Labels: life in general., summer
Friday, thank goodness it is Friday...
Took a "day off" from the school thing today. He had such a good "post school playground" time yesterday. And a great afternoon and night at soccer! I didn't feel like screwing it up by taking him to school this morning. Stop looking at me like that! It is Kindergarten. It blows. And it is the end of the year! Yeah, we're doing crafts and field trips and filler time things. blah! So we took Dad to work... before you freak out on me Char.... we had an appointment with our Chiropractor and you really did not want us descending on your home at 8:30 in the morning! Truely you do not. *and now I know that you are drowning in work, so I'm off the hook completely! whew! So far as we know, husband is getting a ride back to the perimeter with a colleague. We shall see. May have to haul ourselves up there again. Went to the chiropractor, had a complete overhaul. I've got really ugly ankles at the moment. Really ugly.... would share a photo, but IAI gets nauseous and might take me out of my misery for showing it. The chiropractor was concerned about my blood pressure. Yeah.... 115 over 78, it's fine. Much to her disgust. Okay, so hours upon hours later... I finish this post. Husband did indeed get a ride to the edge of oblivion and we picked him up there... went for some Greek food, ate way too much... then up to the top of the city (according to m1) for a run around before bath and bed. Exhausted doesn't even come close to describing the sensation in my body at the moment. the view from the top of the city... pretty clouds tonight.Labels: life in general.
