Why yes the 21st century has arrived...

So, on the weekend, as a ploy (and fundraiser) to keep the children up late in order to change the clocks without the 'lets get up at 5:30 in the morning' problem.
We went to the family social... for those of you who do not hail from my stomping grounds... music, drinks (non alcoholic at this one), snacks... sometimes a band ... depends really.
The kick ass silent auction.
40 or so tickets later....

We'd like to embrace the 21st century.. and use it.

Alas....THE BEST BUY MORONS STILL HAVE MY LAPTOP......

GEEK SQUAD, I SPIT ON YOUR NAME!

Husband will be back a week from today...

And after this afternoons conversation, I am so not looking forward to it.

He completely and totally freaked out on me about m1.

Ummmm okay honey... tell you what. You go ahead and stick your head in the sand... believe that he is a "perfectly normal little boy".

Normal little boys have friends...

Normal little boys do not go around screaming their heads off for upwards of 17 minutes (yes I timed him when we were at a playground by ourselves yesterday morning).... just for the sake of screaming.

Normal little boys do not argue every single request of them... like how about getting dressed? simple enough right? snort.

Normal little boys do not race around flapping their arms saying totally in appropriate words when the phone rings.

Normal little boys do not on average take two to three hours to have a six minute "time out".

On that note... Normal little boys would have caught on in the first four or five time outs...

Normal little boys are a total opposite of my child.

Ummm okay...

So to top off the worst week since the whole school fiasco ended.... I get yelled at for wanting to do something about the kid.

Lovely... and people wonder why I send him to camp?

*because I simply can not live with both of them for ten weeks solid.

positive re-inforcement...

Exactly what the heck am I supposed to be positive about when I get the constant barrage of "I don't have to listen to you! That's boring. That's not fair! I don't like that! You are wrong! I don't like you, and I don't want to listen. I hate this. I hate you! I ..... " and the list goes on and on and on...
What the heck am I supposed to praise? That he has a great vocabulary in his dislikes? That he is a free thinker and loves to run in parking lots? That he is a great kid for taking off in the playground and running out in front of a car?

Screw the positive. I'm just hoping he survives until he is old enough for juvenile detention.

*okay, on a positive note... when I said that I'd had enough of the attitude and I needed him to go upstairs until I called him for lunch... he did... slamming each stair as he went, but at least he went.

And it is only Wednesday...

Dear God... kill me now.
The school thing. Holy crap how much more s*&t do they plan on shovelling on before the end of the year? Husband is going to meet with someone later on. God help him if he doesn't rip a few heads off for my platter. I do not feel like playing dumb, or nicely. I know what has been done, what has definitely not been done... and am completely disgusted at how badly things have been "handled".
There is absolutely no reason for our friend to have spent hours here, with resources for us.... explaining things and setting up a letter for the school. NO REASON for this, other that the goodness of her heart, other than we have been let down.
Well, the good news out of all of it, is that we have a whole year to figure out how to make sure the next one (m2) isn't going to suck at the school thing too. Mostly hoping for a decent teacher in the opposite classroom/time slot. Here is hoping huh?
Spent most of the morning awake... between fevers of over a hundred and my own personal body misery in the form of coughing until I see stars.... yeah. Monsters slept until after eight. No school for us today. Wonder what m1's full time educational assistant got to do with her morning off from the horror that is my child? Yeah, would have been nice to walk in to that bit of news with some warning.... what? really? oh okay then. Of course they don't have to tell us, the parents, anything about what they are doing with our child.... okay. Sure. Remind me that I can become a worse parent now. Seeing as I'm not worthy of being kept in the know.
Y'know when a teacher informs you shortly after the comment of "we are working on calm" ... to quote.
"Don't blame yourself, lots of kids are like this.... but I believe your son has ADHD. You need to take him to your doctor and start doing something about it."
*note. I am almost positive this person said " lots of teachers children"... but I'm just pissed enough that I might be projecting...

Yeah, this is the nightmare I've been living since November. And yet, nary a piece of paperwork to be seen until last week. Of course that was just a form questionnaire for us to fill in, not consent to do anything... oh no.... can't have anything in terms of a concrete paper trail now can we?

So... long story short... this afternoon husband goes in to "talk" about this issue. later this afternoon we yell and scream at each other about how I'm not reacting properly to it, and I don't have m1's best interests first and whatever else he can level at me. I on the other hand will be sitting back fuming at him and his condescending attitude and how it would be so much nicer if he was the one walking in there every single day and hearing how awful it is going to be for m1 next year. Not that this matters. Who gives a shit at how crappy you make the parent feel. It is the kid who matters. Which I do not disagree with on the whole. But really? Am I the one with the FAS kid who is coming in at 10 because I was sleeping off last nights bender?
no... I'm not... but perhaps this would be easier to swallow if I was huh?

If someone doesn't validate my parking soon.... I'm going to go insane.

shuffle, shuffle...

yeah, won't look into any ones eyes for a while .... thank GOD most of you are not privy to my eyes anyway...
Son took a swipe at the teacher on Friday.
yeah....
for some strange reason, they didn't call to send him home!

ahem...
yeah.
hmmmm.

Oh and dear teacher of m1, we warned you that even if you are proud of him... and thanking him for putting down the rocks and not throwing them.... DO NOT TRY AND HUG HIM.
The kid has got a pride issue. He doesn't see it as a nice gesture.
I'm not making excuses.... just sayin' we warned you.

yeah....
Low and behold, tomorrow brings us a new fresh start at Hell....
yipeeeeeee..........

Validated my parking yet?

Thursday starts with a bang...

I have been in desperate need of my chiropractor for a few weeks now....
Now I am in agony, and a miracle isn't in sight. Husband was furious with me for the comment of;
She works the same hours she has been since she came back to work! Until Five. Long before you ever make it home...

insert husband speaking to me in that lovely condescending voice he usually uses on nitwit students about how he will be home before five.....

yeah. Ten to five doesn't cut it buddy.

So goody goody... we started Thursday with pain, hacking up a lung, and husband in a pissy mood, because I'm so negative! okay sweetie.... last week when you said you'd be home right after school you arrived after seven. "Something came up". Something always comes up.
Phhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

God help me, I have to put up with him for another four weeks until he is out of my life for a blessed four weeks! Ahhhh that feels better, something to look forward to.
