Bits and bites or Nuts and bolts....

1 1/2 cups of butter (NO MARGARINE!!! You will regret it)!
2 Tbspoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp each of onion powder and celery seasoning
1 tsp of garlic powder
*note.... I just toss in all the spices. The more the better in my world*
melt butter then dump in a large roasting pan or pyrex dish (huge! as you will see, the cereal will take over shortly!
add all the spices and stir to mix
add, one at a time, stirring to coat with butter mixture
8 cups of circle cereal (Cheerios)
5 cups of Shreddies... dear God, do you have shreddies in the US? It seems like you don't Ack!
4 cups pretzels... usually the stick kind, but I have used the alphabet ones and such too =)

Bake at 200 for an hour and a half.... stirring a few times, to get the soggy bits that gravitate to the bottom to bake as well.

yeah... good for sodium intake, that makes you thirsty, that keeps you hydrated... there. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

bad doula. OH SUCH A BAD DOULA!

Sometime today...

m1 will be home. Do you think the in-laws could let me know a tentative time?
nope.
Do you think they'd at least answer their cell phone?
nope.
Do you think I have any right to grumble?
nope, they've had my kid for a week... I shouldn't grumble.
Instead I've got the slow cooker on with a Turkey Loaf thing...

1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup minced onion.
clove minced garlic (I've added this to the original recipe)
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
salt if you really need it... I don't add salt to anything if I can help it.
1 tsp horseradish
1/2 cup of quick cook (NOT INSTANT) rolled oats. *didn't notice a difference when I used the super flakes that were not quick cook... but I may just be lucky?
mix em up. then add
1 and a half lbs (I use two... get packages in 1lb quantities from the butcher) ground turkey.

Dump it into a well greased crock pot (I use sesame oil... tastes better than plain boring canola or e.v.o.o...
top with some ketchup & mustard mixed together.
cook on low for 5-6 hours
or high for 2.5 - 3 hours
Serves six largish portions...

3.2 g of fat

Fresh baby red potatoes with dirt still sticking to them are ready to be baked and frozen veggies will be steamed to round out the meal.
Yeah, they had my kid for a week! They deserve a decent supper.

*will be here in an hour or so... they called.

Watching too much t.v.

So, as I hunkered down on the sofa to watch Discovery Health's little baby fest for the evening.... Happily knitting away (Goodness I feel so domestic tonight) I realize a recurring thread to most of them.

"what was your plan for labour"

think about it.
c'mon, you all know the answer.

was?

As if it is a done deal.... you've walked in here, and now whatever you had planned can go straight into that plastic bag with your clothes, dignity and confidence...
Or maybe I'm reading too much in to this?
me?
Just sounds so ominous... so wrong.... shouldn't it be "is"?

What is your plan for labour?
Just an observation.
I'll go back to scarfing down my low fat Greek dip.

Here is the recipe!
6 oz feta cheese
8 oz cream cheese
8 oz plain yoghurt (or I've found out that no fat cottage cheese works nicely)
2 cloves garlic minced
Tablespoon of parsely (dried or fresh minced)
Cayenne pepper to taste... I omit this, don't care for it...

I've messed around with it, making it lower fat by purchasing the low/no fat ingredients.

Despite the fact that I ate an entire nanimobar this afternoon.... I am going to seriously watch what I eat this month. The Froot Loops are not up for discussion. July is the only time I get them... and I believe my dear Techie friend did the math and figured out how they were more healthy than some other cereal... can't remember which one, but that is beside the point... I believe her and have a carton of skim milk to offset the horrors.

Night all!
